I have come to realize that procrastinating at work, something I am very used to do, is actually not common. Or rather, it cannot be common.
Procrastination is a luxury that can only be afforded by entry level, smart, white color workers. You can afford to not do work on time and only do it right before the deadline.
A software developer has weekly/ fortnightly deadlines for the sprint. He can chill for first few days and then cram through the one night to raise the PR on time. Not something a delivery executive can do.
A data analyst can do some clever problem solving to add a filter he forgot to add to a dashboard just before a presentation to the VP, or even reschedule the meeting. Not the freedom a bank clerk has.
I procrastinate a lot and just want to take a moment to appreciate my fortune that it is possible for me to do it without much consequence.
